Flexible and adaptable ‘laboratory modules’ support practical undergraduate studies in chemistry, including intensive wet labs and specialist electron microscopes. Key to the success of this project was our engineered solution, the first of its type in Australia, to combine individual fume cupboard ducts into one central system. Computational modelling, simulation and full-scale prototyping were employed to ensure continuous laboratory conditions and comfort.
