The Vicki Sara Building is the new Faculty of Science and Graduate School of Health at the University of Technology Sydney and a key element of the University’s $1B City Campus 2020 Masterplan.
Steensen Varming designed all the mechanical services for this project and sophisticated energy modelling was carried out throughout. Key features of the building include Daylight access and control, Green Roof, on-site renewable energy (via roof mounted PV), solar domestic hot water system, rain water harvesting and reuse. The Building was successfully awarded a 6 Green Star rating as a result of Steensen Varming’s Green Star Consultancy service and the collaboration of our mechanical design team. The UTS Vicki Sara Building has become the first university building in NSW to be awarded a 6 Star Green Star Education v1 As-Built rating, certified by the Green Building Council of Australia.
