Westmead Hospital is located within the Western Sydney Local Health District and serving a population of over 1.5 million people, it is part of the largest hospital complex in the southern hemisphere. Westmead is also a major teaching hospital of the University of Sydney.
Steensen Varming was engaged for the redevelopment project with the objective of achieving a major expansion of clinical services and reconfiguration of the hospital.
A significant portion of the project addresses the interface of the new build sites with the existing sites, and the integration of services into the campus wide reticulation systems.
