The Wollongong Hospital Illawarra Elective Surgical Services (IESS) project consisted of an extension to the existing Wollongong Hospital. Steensen Varming was engaged to undertake several design studies including initially a peer review and option studies to improve the thermal performance of the façade including daylight access, thermal comfort and national construction code (NCC) Section J Compliance. Later work comprised comparative energy modelling and Reflectivity Study to determine the likelihood of potential glare to the surrounding buildings, pedestrians and motorists.
