On November 24th, 2024, the global UNiTE campaign to End Violence against Women was launched, kicking off 16 days of activism and initiatives aimed at raising awareness about the disturbing rise in violence against women. The campaign, with the theme “Every 10 Minutes, a woman is killed. NoExcuse. UNiTE to End Violence against Women,” will feature a variety of actions to shed light on this urgent issue.
The campaign began on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. In recognition of this day, several iconic buildings across Australia were lit up in orange symbolising hope and a brighter future. Orange represents the vision of a world free from violence against women and girls.
