Leaf Plate Luminaires, Bankstown Civic Precinct

As part of the overall lighting strategy for Bankstown Civic Precinct Main Avenue, contrasting blue and amber lighting was used along Main Avenue to create a prominent entry into the precinct and a dramatic user experience. The lighting scheme for the Main Avenue created leaf shadows onto the ground through a specifically designed ‘leaf plate element’, reflecting the daytime image and achieving a dramatic night-time effect throughout the year. The use of blue light was an integral part of the overall concept and reflected on the notion of moonlight shining through trees.

Once completed, amber lighting was integrated into the seat joinery to define the seating zones. Contrasting with the blue light, the amber light aimed to create a warm and welcoming ambience, encouraging patrons to utilise the area to relax, gather and reflect.
