The Homebush Data Centre is a critical asset supporting Sydney Water’s operations and business continuity. Over a longstanding relationship with Sydney Water, Steensen Varming has provided mechanical and electrical engineering advice to support the performance, reliability and future planning of the facility.
Our involvement has included reviews of critical power infrastructure, data centre planning and strategic advisory services. This has encompassed assessments of the existing UPS system and maintenance requirements, development of data centre layouts addressing equipment arrangements, cooling systems and operational clearances, as well as preparation of a ‘Next Generation Data Centre’ roadmap outlining industry best practice and future upgrade considerations.
More recently, Steensen Varming has provided high-level engineering assessments of the facility’s existing services, reviewing system condition, efficiency and compliance, and identifying opportunities for maintenance, improvement and ongoing optimisation.
