UK House was originally built in 1906 in the former rag and trade district and was designed to resemble Hampton Court palace, as such there is a strong element of heritage associated with building. The concept is a ‘radical re-interpretation of UK House’s heritage’. The intervention draws upon the existing building’s layered history and consolidates its striking external expressions with a new, modern, and unique interior experience fit for a leading business location.
At the commencement of the services the building is being used as a mixture of office and retail space and is undergoing some extensive renovations, this includes upgrading the MEP services infrastructure and plant.
Steensen Varming provided building services for this heritage apartment redevelopment including a masterplan of building services strategies, MEP & lighting design services, and Audio Visual & Home Cinema hardware design. The penthouse apartment development also includes the lobby upgrade works, Central plant, 5th, and 6th Floor Cat-A Fit-Out works.
