Ayla for Vivid Sydney

Ayla was a serene image of the moon projected on a giant scale and surrounded by an elliptical halo of light. Every night the image changed to reflect the phases of the moon, and the silhouetted forms of adults and children danced and played and stood before it.

Dedicated to the artist’s daughter, Ayla, the artist’s intention was to capture an essence of the moon, exploring the capabilities of projection and lighting technology. Special perimeter lighting created the soft halo effect, and a futuristic soundscape was produced using a minimalist yet mellow composition.
