UNSW are expanding its operations in the ACT region by establishing a second campus in the Canberra City. Steensen Varming have been engaged as the lead Sustainability Consultant for the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Canberra City Stage 1 Development.
The Stage 1 development includes the construction of the first two buildings of the new campus. The interconnected multi-use buildings will host teaching and research spaces; retail offerings, cultural and student-focused spaces and facilities for new and existing industry partners.
Steensen Varming developed the sustainability approach for the project, inclusive of its design philosophy and associated design recommendations right from the early design stage. The project is targeting a minimum of 5 Star Green Star Buildings rating with an aspiration to achieve a 6 Star rating.
